The JB Pentathlon

This weekend was, shall we say... unique.

My clients showed what an amazing, diverse and successful group of individuals they all are.

To be honest, I don't go on about them enough and they deserve some big shout outs.

This weekend, I had clients performing feats involving walking, swimming, running, cycling and lifting.

This combination shall now be known as the JB Pentathlon.

You can take a look at the guys all in action below, although it was tough to fit all of them into one picture.

I apologise in advance as the below might read like a parent putting up one of these posts about their kids on Facebook like -

"WOW!! Little Tarquin slept the whole way through the night last night!"

Like we give a shit.

But I'm going to explain at the end WHY you should care about this :)

Michael lost 12kg from September last year, going from 93 to 81kg, and looks absolutely amazing for it (I'll be sharing his "before and after" pictures soon) whilst simultaneously gaining strength to get ready for his first ever powerlifting meet... at 62 years of age. He cemented the fact that he isn't just strong for his age... he's STRONG full stop, with a 412.5kg total in the squat, bench and deadlift.

Lizzie put 60kg on her previous PB powerlifting total, putting her in a great position for the British Championships towards the end of the year. Oh, and she's done it whilst finishing her maths degree and working a regular job too.

Liz and Patrick have lost 31kg between them since working with me last year - incredible stuff. This weekend they finished off their "holiday" (my idea of holiday is a bit different to theirs...) cycling 160 miles around Lake Constance.

Ayse did her first ever powerlifting meet having only even touched a weight full stop a few months ago. She gained a ton of strength in only 6 weeks. With the months leading up to her next competition, I know she's gonna smash it even more.

Zach hit PBs in all his lifts at the powerlifting meet and got lean in the process, dropping a weight category. This doesn't come easy, nor does it happen without without some seriously hard work.

Lisa, one of the lovely ladies on the Summer Shreds program walked from Keswick to Barrow (21 miles) for Combat Stress (PTSD treatment for veterans) and has been absolutely nailing her nutrition so far!

Last but not least, we have Kym, who did the Sevenoaks Triathlon in sub 2 hours. She put in some serious graft in the pool, on the bike, on the road, in the gym and in the kitchen to eek out every performance gain possible and it paid off big time.

Whilst all these guys did very different stuff, their results were down to some common factors:

- They enlisted a coach in me. Want to get something done? Hire an expert. Not only do you get the expert guidance, you also have some "skin in the game" i.e. taking a risk and putting some investment in means you want to see a return by actually doing the work.

- They recognised the basic principles behind the mechanisms that were going to get them results.

- Off the back of these "principles", I made them a plan

- They stuck to this plan 80-90% of the time

- If they were ever unable to stick to the plan they asked for help rather than floundering around and struggling

- They measured their progress regularly. Weight, reps, weight lifted, distance covered or whatever other metrics were appropriate.

- Each week they got regular communication and tweaks to their plans to ensure things kept moving forward.

You can apply this "template" to literally ANY goal you might have and make good things happen...

So, want to join our team and have success like this awesome and successful lot?

Let me know how I can help:
