Checking in today to see how your first week of 2018 is going.
If I may, here’s
a little reflection on mine:
Busy, fun, exciting, curious, interesting, inspiring, confusing, to name a few...
I’ve felt all those things about the last 7 days.
As I'm sure you can imagine, January is always a special time for us in the fitness industry.
But this year was always going to be extra special because I'm starting my second year going solo in my own PT studio, so I really
didn’t know what to expect…
Will I have the same success as my first year?
Or, was that just a "grand opening" thing? Is it possible I'll see growth?
I really don't know what to expect, and truthfully, I'm still not sure how things are going to go in the future.
AND THAT’S MY POINT FOR TODAY…
At the end of the day/week/month/year
you can NOT control results.
You can’t control what the scale says.
You can’t control the body fat reading.
You can’t control how your trousers fit.
So what can you control?
YOUR BEHAVIOURS AND HABITS.
That’s about it, you can't really control a whole lot else.
For my business, I can control the advertising
and marketing I do. I can control the service I provide. I can control the offers I make. I can control the value I deliver.
I can NOT control people’s decision to commit to getting/staying fit... with or without my coaching.
For your fitness goals (and mine), you can control if you turn up to the gym after (or before) work. You can control what you eat and how much water you drink. You can control the time you go to bed
at night.
Then, we just wait and see what happens. We've "controlled all the controllables"
Having trained for well over a decade now, I know that if you continually (consistency is key) choose the behaviours that are known to be linked to the desired results you WILL achieve your goals.
The hard part for many of us is lack of patience.
We want results so fast, we want them
yesterday.
But, that’s just not how it works. And, the rate of results is different for all of us.
One person might lose 3 kilos in the first week while another loses 2 and another one even gains 1…
Wut da fuk?
That’s just how it goes.
But, I’ll tell you this... I’ve seen the person who loses 3 kilos in week one get cocky and not lose 8 in 6 weeks,
while the person who gained 1 kilo in week 1 trusted the process and lost 8 in 6 weeks.
So, we’re one week into the New Year… early days yet, but how are YOU doing?
I’d love to hear back from you. Hit “reply” and shoot me back a quick update.
PS - I’ve got a load of great stuff coming up in 2018:
- At the
end of January/start of February (date TBC) I kick off the Fat Loss Sprint, a six week fat loss challenge.
- Winter Mass, my muscle gain program is being relaunched.
- Summer Shreds is making a comeback after the shredders absolutely crushed it in 2017
- A very big, top secret project is coming towards the tail end of the year. Keep your eyes peeled 👀
