Ready for Rule #4?

Rule #4 is great, but it can be scary...

People often don't get what they want because they don’t follow Rule #4:

To achieve anything big, you have to BE BOLD.

You have to be willing to get a little uncomfortable and challenge the norm.

I remember back when I did my first powerlifting competition.

I was, what I thought at the time, strong in the gym. But the thought of stepping on stage and lifting in front of a load of people in nothing but a singlet that is only slightly more modest than a “mankini” was a little... unnerving. Plus, when I first made the commitment to do my first competition I was a good 8 kilos overweight.

But, I was willing to challenge myself and step outside of my comfort zone to accomplish a goal I previously only dreamed about.

Signing up for that competition and then actually showing up and performing on the day was a BOLD choice.

And then I did it again multiple times ever since…

I didn’t keep my goal quiet. I told everyone about it, telling them how I wanted to take some records in my weight class.

I could have kept the whole thing quiet and given myself a "get out" if I needed it, but that would NOT be bold, would it?

By the way, when you step out of your comfort zone and do something bold...sometimes you're going to not succeed.  I won’t say fail, because it sounds negative and you CAN take positives from these experiences - so long as you made some progress and/or you learned from it for next time.

For example, with my clients, they sometimes DON'T reach their goal weight in their goal time frame. As effective as my training and nutrition plans are, they're not 100% foolproof... no program is!

But, if a client's goal is losing 12kg in 12 weeks, but they "only" lose 8kg in 12 weeks, is that a “failure”?

No.

Unless of course, you give up and allow yourself to gain it all back again...

However, if you relish in your great results and continue to put the work in, you’ll ultimately hit your goal (maybe in a rather short space of time) and continue on to accomplish even more…

So, my advice for you today, and my Rule #4 for LASTING fat loss, is to BE BOLD.

Instead of playing it safe and avoiding risks, commit yourself to your goal and go for it.

The secret to being bold actually goes back to rule #1: Get Clear.

Getting clear is essential because when you have a mission/why/purpose that’s actually meaningful to you, you’ll be able to push past the obstacles that EVERYONE inevitably encounters along the way.

I can assure you that the rewards of being bold FAR outweigh any benefit that comes with playing it safe.

When you’re clear with this, everything else unfolds…

You get the willingness, the drive to actually take action, the ability to make the right decisions, and you’re able to get past the obstacles in your way.

Much love
