The other day I screwed up.
Okay, maybe a
slight exaggeration, but maybe more of a bit of a spanner in the works.
It was a classic case of THINKING what you're doing being totally different to what you're ACTUALLY doing.
Currently, I'm training to run a 100km race. On the days I don't do a running training session, as a form of active recovery, I have a goal of 15,000 steps to hit.
I also do this because when you're doing a lot of exercise (as I
currently am) your body often subconsciously cuts down on its activity at other times in order to save energy and maintain (not lose) its weight, whereas I currently want to lose a little.
This is because your body doesn't want to get lean... it loves to stay the same.
Back in the days when food wasn't so plentiful, this would have kept us alive. However, in this day and age, it's just bloody frustrating. We want to get lean,
dammit.
Anyway, on Thursday this week, I had a fairly busy day. I had my own weight training session, a short walk to and from work, a walk to the post office, 6 clients to train and with this comes a fair bit of moving around.
It got to about 7:30pm and I thought
"I've got this 15,000 steps easy today"
I check my step count on my watch...
Barely
over 7000. Not even halfway.
Oh s&*t.
In isolation, not much of a problem, but if this happens regularly it could really scupper your progress.
This highlights a huge importance on proper tracking.
Unfortunately, it's often no good to just THINK or FEEL like what you're doing is right.
You need it there, clear as day, in black and white as much as possible to make sure that you
are indeed doing what you think you're doing.
This is exactly what I help you do in Summer Shreds.
We eradicate any BS that we tell ourselves and instead have you relentlessly nailing the basics.
This way we can leave all the clean eaters, low carb dieters and cardio bunnies behind in floundering around with all their crap that doesn't work, and instead have you dropping fat at a rate of 0.5kg - 1kg per
week.
Imagine how incredible you'd look and feel after the 8 weeks if you could do that EVERY week?
Much love,
JB
