A VERY common question I get is:
"How many calories should I eat to start losing
fat?"
As it's asked so frequently I thought I'd settle it here...
Take your bodyweight in pounds (1kg = 2.2 pounds) and then multiply this by 12-14.
Multiply it by 12 if you're fairly inactive, 14 if you're very active or have a strenuous job, 13 if you're somewhere in between.
There you have it, your calories for the day.
Adhere to this, lose
fat.
Easy right?
Not so fast.
This is just an estimation.
A good one, but just an estimation nonetheless.
We will most likely need to tweak and refine things.
If you're consuming this level of calories and aren't losing on average of approximately 0.25-0.5kg per week then you need to drop your daily calorie intake by
100-200 for a week until you are losing weight in that range.
Do the opposite if you're losing weight too fast.
Keep things the same if you're having good results, only drop the calories if you're NOT losing weight.
Still struggling with things?
Just drop me a reply to this email.
Much
love,
JB
